Each session was thematically structures, addressing topics such as support systems. Alternative currencies, reciprocity, the division of labor, care practices, and horizontal organizational models. Taiwo Aiyedogbons presentation with her students Floating Mask, Retrospect to Communal Rhythm unfolds through an interwoven constellation of performance, sound installation, costume, and performative drawing. The work ultimately situates performance and drawing as interconnected modes of cultural transmission. By recontextualising the Gẹ̀lẹ̀dẹ́ masquerade, a ceremonial system that articulates gender, power, and social balance through performative embodiment, within contemporary performance and installation practice, the project Floating Mask proposes heritage as an evolving rhythm shaped by participation, embodiment, and collective authorship. It invites audiences to engage with the subtle, layered processes through which cultural meaning is continuously produced, remembered, and renewed.
