Semester Opening 2018 + Hiscox Kunstpreis Art Award

The University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg) cordially invites you to the opening of the academic year 2018/19 on Wednesday, 10 October 2018 at 6 pm.
Following the welcome address by Martin Köttering, President of HFBK, the new professors Martin Boyce, Angela Bulloch, Simon Denny, and Valentina Karga as well as the new guest professors Sam Durant, Ceal Floyer, Dr. des. Alexander Henschel, Jeanne van Heeswijk, Dr. Marcus Recht and Peter Wächtler will be introduced.
Afterwards, the Hiscox Art Award 2018 will be presented. The exhibition of the nominated artists will be displayed in the entrance hall and in the gallery on the second floor. The nominees are: Pascal Brinkmann, Nina Feuerstein, Sarah Hablützel, Clara Langenbach, Wonek Lee, Lena Mai Merle, Jáno Möckel, Tanja Nis-Hansen, Stella Sieber, Kevin Westphal und Patrick Will/ Caspar Wülfing.
Members of this year’s Hiscox jury are: Nikola Dietrich (director of Kölnischer Kunstverein), Matthias Mühling (director of Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus und Kunstbau, München), and Kito Nedo (freelance journalist, Berlin).
