2020/10/02: Vergabe des Hiscox Kunstpreises 2020 zum Semesterstart an der HFBK Hamburg
At the beginning of the winter semester at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts, the Hiscox Art Prize 2020 will be awarded on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 7:30 pm. Since 2008, this prize has been awarded annually by the specialist insurer Hiscox in cooperation with the HFBK in the amount of 7,500 euros. The HFBK professors in the fields of painting/drawing, sculpture and time-related media will nominate twelve outstanding students for the pre-selection, who will then present their work to an expert jury.
This year's external jury will be made up of the director of the Hamburger Kunsthalle Prof. Dr. Alexander Klar, the curator Joanna Warsza and the director of the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig Franciska Zólyom. The following artists will present themselves in an exhibition: Manuel Funk, Moritz Haas, Paula Hoffmann, Stephanie Jacobs, Helene Kummer, Amy Maga, Esteban Pérez, Marie Pietsch, Katja Pilipenko, Jakob Sitter, Chenxi Zhong, Laura Ziegler+hintersection. Their art can be experienced by the public in the entrance hall and in the gallery rooms of the HFBK on the opening evening and then daily from 2 to 6 pm until November 7, 2020. In addition, the opening will be broadcast live and the exhibition can be viewed in the HFBK's online gallery for longer periods.
