Michael Taussig, Pablo Torres Gómez, Luise Donschen
Michael Taussig, born in Australia, studied medicine and sociology and conducted anthropological fieldwork in western Colombia. He was a professor of Performance Studies at NYU, then of Anthropology at Columbia University, where he is now emeritus. Together with friends he runs a seminar called “The Mini aaa” focused on the art of writing. His books include The Devil and Commodity Fetishism in South America (1980); Shamanism, Colonialism, and the Wild Man (1987); Mimesis and Alterity (1993); I Swear I Saw This (2011); Field Notebooks. 100 Notes – 100 Thoughts, dOCUMENTA 13 (2011); The Corn Wolf (2015); And the Garden Is You: Essays on Fieldwork, Writingwork, and Readingwork (2024).
Pablo Torres Gómez, born in Colombia, is a PhD candidate in the postgraduate program Being(s). Artistic Research in Transformative Contexts of Health at the HFBK Hamburg. He works as an artistic researcher, sound artist, and anthropologist. He holds a B.A. in Social & Cultural Anthropology and an M.A. in Design & Computation from the Berlin University of the Arts. He is co-curator of the Listening Biennial and a member of the collective ~pes: laboratory for animal dreams. His work has been activated at documenta fifteen, Ars Electronica, TBA21’s Ocean Archive, and Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, among others.
Luise Donschen is a filmmaker, born in East Berlin. She studied European Ethnology in Hamburg and Belgrade, as well as film at the HFBK Hamburg, where she subsequently taught as an artistic staff member in the narrative film department. Her films Casanova Gene (2018), Entire Days Together (2019), and Elle (2021) have been successfully screened at international festivals (including the Berlinale, New York Film Festival, Viennale, and Oberhausen Short Film Festival) and have received numerous awards. Her latest feature film Patty is currently in post-production.
