A Piece of Me is a participatory, conceptual, and experimental installation based on the collection, stitching, documentation, and connection of pieces of fabric from diverse cultures, geographies, and personal narratives. The project reconsiders the mystical concept of “unity” through the idea that every individual is a piece of a larger collective body.

Through a series of workshops, participants are invited to bring a personal piece of fabric or clothing that carries a memory, experience, cultural connection, or personal significance. They transform their pieces through textile art practices such as stitching, embroidery, calligraphy, painting, printing, beadwork, patchwork, and other experimental techniques.

The workshop creates a space for participants to meet, exchange stories, and reflect on their individual identities while creating. Each piece becomes an expression of its maker—preserving its own color, texture, memory, and identity.

The pieces created during the workshops are then collected, documented, connected, and assembled into a large-scale textile installation. Individually, each piece represents a personal story; collectively, they form a larger body.
