Dennis Nedbal
Going to Israel was [...] important to me on several levels. I wanted to seize the opportunity to face the challenges arising from communicative and cultural differences and to gain a somewhat broader understanding of various "outsides" and communicative differences that are crucial for my design practice. In other words, I aimed to seek abroad as far from Europe as possible, to examine the role that language plays, and to use the excursion into object-oriented design as an experiment with speculative approaches.
Tips & tricks for the semester abroad (as of 2019)
It's all about the money (!?) & Let's talk about language!
Dennis Nedbal:
Israel is expensive, very wet and cold in winter (approx. December to March) and everyone speaks English. You should make a conscious choice of the language you want to learn (Hebrew, Arabic, etc.), depending on where your own focus of work lies.
