Lilianne Kiame is an Angolan artist and designer whose work includes paintings, sculptures, installations and industrial design. In Luanda, she was part of a design residency at the Creative Hub of the Cipro Group, a Luanda-based think tank, where she worked on urban proposals and the development of low-cost and recycled surfaces for the built environment. Her contribution included the design of the Peace Pavilion for the 1st edition of the Luanda Biennial - "Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace", an international event organised by UNESCO, the African Union and the Government of Angola.
In 2022, Lilianne took on projects concentrated on the conservation of the Kissama Reserve through eco-tourism and education. She also participated through research in the project ‘Urban Colours’ for the non-profit ‘Luganzi: Living Archive,’ a free digital archive, research, and publishing platform for Angolan Arts, Culture, and Creative Industries.
In collaboration with the autonomous feminist collective Ondjango she designed and illustrated the 6th published edition of the feminist annual magazine, TUBA!. This independent and freely distributed magazine is one of the many vehicles for Ondjango’s goal to enable Angolan women to navigate social justice, solidarity, and liberty. In the same year, she contributed a sculpture to the performance exhibition at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, titled ‘Chibinda Ilunga.’ Lilianne had her first collective exhibition at Jahmek Contemporary in Luanda, titled 'for a New Tomorrow,' alongside four Angolan artists. Her contribution merged fiction and social housing compromises between society and government.
Currently, Lilianne is working on the development of the film "Hold Time for Me" by Fradique, as an illustrator and production designer. Lilianne is based in Luanda, Angola and Artist in Residence / Guest Lecturer in the department of design at HFBK Hamburg in summer semester 2024.
