With the exhibition “When the sirens howl (it´s on us)” we show positions that deal artistically with climate destruction and war.
The focus is on the question of how physical and psychological existence is changed by constant threats.
Since the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic, many things have been put to the test. It became apparent who practiced solidarity or who used the crisis for their
own interests.
The Russian army's war of aggression on Ukraine followed and once again brought war back to Europe. Many dead and hundreds of thousands of refugees followed. Again the use of nuclear weapons was and is being openly discussed. Nuclear facilities were shelled in Ukraine, a disaster like Chernobyl (Chornobyl) in 1986 was and is no longer out of the question. Russian gas deliveries to Europe were stopped, the climate catastrophe is coming back into consciousness, the status quo is foltering, we are contemplating “survival”. At the same time, women and girls in Iran rebelled for months against their oppression. In various states people are taking to the streets and demanded a human, free life.
