The Claussen-Simon-Fonds for Universities support projects at universities and higher education institutions in Hamburg. Funding of up to 10,000 euros per project is available for innovative, interdisciplinary, and interactive teaching initiatives. The aim is to develop new teaching formats, address current challenges, and create sustainable impulses for academic teaching and learning. A total of 100,000 euros is available.

Teaching staff, employees, and students at universities and higher education institutions in Hamburg
Actors from university-related service institutions
Project teams with innovative, interdisciplinary, or interactive teaching concepts
Initiatives that develop new learning formats or rethink existing ones
Optional: projects addressing themes such as freedom, peace, and democracy
How can you apply?
Submission of a project proposal
Projects can start in summer or autumn 2026 or be developed jointly with students
Implementation and completion of projects by the end of the summer semester 2027 at the latest
Application for funding of up to 10,000 euros per project
