In diesem zweitägigen Workshop entwickelst Du praxisnahe Methoden, um deine künstlerische Arbeit präzise, selbstverständlich und angemessen zu vermitteln – mündlich wie schriftlich.

Sprechen und Schreiben spielen auch in der bildenden Kunst eine zentrale Rolle. Doch wie schreibe ich über meine Arbeit – persönlich, aber professionell? Welche Texte passen in ein Portfolio? Und wie vermeide ich gängige Floskeln?

Was erwartet Dich im Workshop:

Anhand deiner aktuellen Projekte und Arbeiten erproben wir verschiedene Formen der Präsentation und des Schreibens.

• Kurzvorstellungen: Wie stelle ich meine Arbeit präzise und pointiert vor?
• Portfolio- Check: Individuelles Feedback zu deinem Portfolio und Einblicke in verschiedene Jury- und Sichtungssituationen.
• Textentwicklung: Wir verfassen Textbausteine für Bewerbungen, Website & Publikationen

Ziel ist eine durch Selbstreflexion, Information und Übung verfeinerte Darstellung der eigenen Praxis und die Entwicklung von Textbausteinen, auf die man/frau für Bewerbungen, Anträge, Publikationen und Webseiten zurückgreifen kann.

Birgit Effinger ist Kunstwissenschaftlerin und Expertin für Laufbahnentwicklung im Kunstfeld. Sie unterstützt Künstler*innen, Gestalter*innen und Filmemacher*innen mit Coaching und Lehre an verschiedenen europäischen Kunsthochschulen bei der proaktiven Gestaltung ihrer beruflichen Laufbahn – mit erprobten Methoden, individueller Beratung und Empowerment.

Als langjährige Projektleiterin (u.⁠ ⁠a. Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt, see up weißensee kunsthochschule berlin, Designfarm Berlin) und Mentorin verfügt sie über umfassende Erfahrung in der Vermittlung von professionellen Standards im Kunstfeld, stets mit Blick auf die künstlerische Integrität und individuelle Entwicklung.

Tapiwa Svosve

A concert-lecture that traces frequencies in Black radical sound, weaving improvisation, historical praxis, and collaborative performance into a study of how music and memory carry political resonance.

Tapiwa Svosve (b.⁠ ⁠1995) is a musician and theorist whose multidisciplinary practice brings sound into dialogue with theatre, painting, and historical inquiry. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Svosve’s work enjoys a unique temperament that spans extreme avant-gardism, free jazz, and noise music. Thinking through silence, negative space, solo performance, and the negotiations between body and instrument, he adapts music and sound to develop various physical and performative techniques. A longtime organiser in Switzerland’s experimental music scene, he has used public spaces to locate and explore the boundaries between commercial, theatrical, and underground communities. In 2024, he was awarded the Swiss Music Prize.

How the series resonates Monster, Minor, Margin: Performance as Study curated by Kandis Williams with the Extended Library
The Extended Library treats performance as a form of knowledge production—an embodied practice that translates lived experience into public study. This series explores how Black performers stage negotiations between identity, humor, sonic experimentation, various audience recognitions including negotiating sterreotyping. These negotiations are additionally made in spaces that have very different demands of the performer from independent, theatre, film and commercial spaces. With Thelma Buabeng’s comedic/cabaret solo performance (Tell Me Nothing From The Horse) and Tapiwa Svosve’s concert-lecture with guest collaborator Tobechukwu Onwukeme (Forensic Architecture), exploring through-lines of frequencies in Black radical sound, the program opens a window into how performance formats create and contest meaning. Both practices show how performance operates as critique, pedagogy, and archive at once. These events resonate directly with my concurrent seminar, Monster, Minor, Margin: Black Body / Being / Performance in Archive and Media, which examines the circulation and contestation of highly aestheticized Black figures in culture.

Lecture by Emily Martinez, artist, Los Angeles and Dr. Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss, Berlin

The lecture series “Can AI think (artistically)” opens up a joint testing ground for the question of whether and how AI works artistically. We invite guests from the arts and sciences to discuss the artistic potential of AI in concrete projects and theories. The focus is on the (historical) conditions and processes under which a poetics can be asserted, as well as the political and material foundations of artistic practice through statistical renderings. The lectures combine insights into work processes with critical analysis of infrastructure and responsibility, and frame the work in the accompanying seminars.
