ortung 15 – The Schwabach art biennale
The Schwabach art biennale ortung 15, under the theme “In the Sign of Gold,” invites artists to present site-specific artworks and projects in Schwabach. A total of 20 artists will be selected to participate in the competition. All participants will receive an expense allowance of €1,000. In addition, the City of Schwabach will award two art prizes of €6,000 and €3,000, as well as three audience prizes of €3,000, €2,000 and €1,000. Additional support for project implementation and accommodation may be provided, subject to availability. Participating artists and their works will be featured in a catalogue. The City of Schwabach may also acquire artworks, and prize winners will have the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at the Städtische Galerie Schwabach the following year.
Who can apply?
Artists wishing to submit an artwork or artistic project for the ortung 15 art biennale
Eligible disciplines and techniques include painting, sculpture, printmaking, textile art, all types of installations, video, architecture and computer art
The application does not yet need to demonstrate a connection to the theme of gold
How to apply?
Submit a PDF file of no more than 20 MB, including a short CV, up to five references and four photographs (three of artworks and one showing your working environment)
Selected artists will be invited to a colloquium and subsequently asked to submit a detailed project concept
