Since 2026, HFBK Hamburg has been a member of the Themis Trust Center against Sexual Harassment and Violence (Themis Vertrauensstelle gegen sexuelle Belästigung und Gewalt e.V.).

In addition to the internal counselling services available at HFBK Hamburg, students and staff may also contact Themis directly as an independent external support service if they have experienced sexual harassment or violence. The psychologists and legal advisors at Themis provide confidential counselling and can support individuals in taking further steps, including filing a formal complaint or reporting an incident to the authorities.

In consultation with Lima Sayed, HFBK Hamburg may also make use of Themis training and professional development programmes. In particular, the university aims to offer in-house workshops and training sessions facilitated by Themis.

Themis was established in 2018 as an independent point of contact for the cultural and media sectors. Supported by its members—including professional associations, employers’ and employees’ organisations, broadcasters, and, more recently, universities—it is committed to fostering a sustainable cultural change in the prevention of and response to sexual harassment and violence.
