“KunstKommunikation” Project Fellowship at Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst
The “KunstKommunikation” Project Fellowship at DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst supports artists who wish to develop and realize communicative, participatory and/or site-specific art projects. Up to four selected projects will receive funding of up to €9,000 each. In addition, a rent-free apartment and studio space will be provided during the project phases. The selected projects will be publicly presented and documented; at least one work created as part of the project will become part of the Kunsthaus art collection.
Who can apply?
Artists with a completed degree from an art academy, university or an equivalent qualification
There is no age limit.
Applications from artist duos or groups are welcome.
There is no residency requirement; the duration of the stay will be agreed with the Kunsthaus management according to the project.
Projects with a communicative, participatory and/or site-specific character are particularly encouraged.
Projects may engage with the history, architecture, topography, ecology and social contexts of the site or region.
Community-oriented and process- or experience-based projects, as well as projects involving regional institutions, schools, associations or businesses, are also eligible.
The public or non-professional participants may be actively involved in the projects.

In the first selection round, up to 15 project ideas will be selected for the mandatory Ideas Workshop from April 15–17, 2027.
Selected participants will receive an expense allowance of €500 for developing their project proposal.
Following the Ideas Workshop, a detailed project proposal including a timeline, organizational plan and budget must be submitted by July 9, 2027.
In the final selection, up to four projects will be chosen for realization.
Project implementation will begin in February 2028.
