studio focuses on the role of the Kunstverein as a site of artistic production. The five-week collective working format takes place in between the regular exhibition programme and invites artists to work on site at Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof.

Within the contemporary art landscape, Kunstvereine occupy a distinctive position: As spaces for production, presentation, and critical exchange, they operate between local and international contexts. studio understands this as an opportunity to collectively reflect on this role while opening up space for artistic experimentation, exchange, and working processes. During the programme, the exhibition hall will be transformed into a shared studio hosting four parallel artistic processes.

Alongside the individual work in the studio, weekly plenary sessions, studio visits, and a reading group will be organised. These formats aim to create space for discussions around individual practices, working conditions, and the institutional framework of the Kunstverein. The programme concludes with a public open studio at the end of the working period.
