The Blue Night: Art Competition | Deadline: July 31, 2026
The Blue Night Art Competition 2027 is an open call as part of the event The Blue Night in the historic city centre of Nuremberg. Artists are invited to develop site-specific, temporary art projects for public spaces, courtyards, and special locations. The selected projects will be presented within a two-day cultural festival with a high number of visitors. The programme offers an artist fee of 1,500 EUR as well as reimbursement of material and project costs up to 4,500 EUR. In addition, it includes a curated realisation in public space, including organisational and technical support.
Who can apply?
Individual artists and collectives from all artistic fields
Examples: installation, light art, performance, media art, interactive and participatory formats
Projects must be suitable for public space and large visitor flows
Traditional exhibition formats such as purely painting or sculpture will not be considered
