Hessian State Prize for Universal Design 2026 | Deadline: 14.08.2026
The Hessian State Prize for Universal Design 2026 recognizes companies, start-ups, designers, architecture and engineering firms, associations, and students from across Germany who develop aesthetic, sustainable, and inclusive solutions through their projects.
The competition offers public visibility, an exhibition, a publication, a traveling exhibition, feedback from the jury, and the permanent right to use the award label. The Newcomer Award comes with total prize money of €7,000. In addition, winning students will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program in cooperation with Hessen Design e.V.
Participation in the competition is free of charge.

Submissions from all design disciplines and industries are welcome, including architecture, interior design, healthcare, accessible IT, mobility, furniture, fashion, and public space.
How to apply
Register on the “My Design Council” portal and provide your personal details and project information (description, dimensions, photos, etc.).
After registration, you will receive a Project ID.
Use your Project ID to complete the application questionnaire.
Send the original products to Frankfurt am Main for the jury session.
