The prerequisite for working independently with machines is participation in a basic course and sufficient instruction and qualification. The use of the workshop is only possible by prior appointment.
In the wood workshop, HFBK students will learn about the diverse properties of wood and the woodworking possibilities resulting from them. Among these are chip-producing machining with tools and machines, e.g. sawing, planing, cutting and grinding, chipless machining, e. g. warping, joining of sheet wood and other shapes by gluing and surface finishing, e. g. veneer, inlay or laminating. Plastic work in the form of carving, cutting and wood turning is also possible. Students will receive advisory and practical support in realising their projects. Basic knowledge of woodworking and raw wood materials will be taught in the context of introductory courses at the beginning and end of each semester.
