Eva-Maria Bauer (*1980) designs stage sets and scenographies for theaters and theatrical installations in museums. She completed her stage design studies at the University of the Arts London and her media art studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. The combination of these subjects enables her to explore scenic-narrative spaces with all means. Her stage designs are independent metaphorical installations, which work detached from the text as a venue but also as a commentary on the content of the different plays.

Evi Bauer has worked closely with directors Sebastian Nübling, Sahar Rahimi, Rafael Sanchez, Helgard Haug and Stefan Kaegi of Rimini Protokoll, Yael Ronen, Miloš Lolić and many others. Her stage design commissions have taken her to all the renowned theaters such as the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Residenztheater, the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Theater Basel, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Burgtheater Wien, the Schauspiel Köln, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and many more. Eva-Maria Bauer was awarded the Hamburg Theater Prize for best stage design in 2019, and her plays have also been invited to the renowned Berlin Theatertreffen several times.
