Ann Richter (*1987) is a graphic designer based in Berlin. In 2015, she co-founded Studio Pandan with Pia Christmann. The studio develops visual identities, publications, digital applications, and exhibitions, primarily for clients and institutions in the fields of art and culture.
At the core of her practice is an engagement with typography and language, and with the question of how design not only communicates content but actively shapes it. She is interested in visual systems that emerge from the specific conditions of a project, unfold across different media, and remain open to change. Her practice moves between applied design, research, and experimentation, seeking forms that engage with, question, and reconfigure conventions and existing visual orders.
Richter studied Visual Communication at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart and Graphic Design and Book Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. Her professional experience includes working at Project Projects in New York and Graphic Thought Facility in London. Her work has been exhibited internationally and has received numerous distinctions, including at the International Biennials of Graphic Design Brno, at Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, Weltformat Graphic Design Festival Luzern, and the Stiftung Buchkunst.
Since 2018, she has taught at various art and design schools, including Berlin University of the Arts, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, University of the Arts Bremen, Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, and Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design Kiel.
