Jenna Sutela lives and works in Berlin. Her ‘living sculptures’, image, and sound works explore open systems from biology to computation and language. 

Seeking patterns, signs and meaning within what might generally be considered random or chaotic, Sutela probes the relationship between consciousness and the material world. Through collaborative practice, she traces decentralised forms of organisation and interrelationships at scales from microbial to cosmic.

Sutela’s work has been presented internationally, most recently at the Finnish Pavilion, 61st Venice Biennale (2026); Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation, London (2026); New Museum, New York (2026); Castello di Rivoli, Turin (2025); and Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève (2024). She was a La Becque residency laureate in 2025 and is a Jane Lombard Fellow at The New School 2025–27.
