Dr. phil. in art. / PhD in Art Practice
In addition to the theoretical dissertation in written form or an artistic work accompanied by a theoretical text, leading to the degree of Dr. phil. in art, the HFBK offers the PhD in Art Practice—a degree program unique in Germany—in which a research-based artistic work is created as part of a three-year curriculum at the HFBK. The application periods for both doctoral programs begin on September 1.
